Biodegradable and compostable materials have already reached the market, and are a real alternative to conventional packaging materials. In addition, the use of recycled materials or the reduction of the total packaging also supports the objective of making packaging more sustainable. The best sustainable alternative is affected by many factors, and not always easy to find. This two-day conference addresses the key issues surrounding the selection of more sustainable food packaging options, considering legal, environmental and commercial implications.
