New University Building Opened


The Minister of State for Schools and Learners, Jim Knight, recently opened a new £12 million Education and Teaching building on the Walsall Campus at the University of Wolverhampton.

HEFCE provides £8.3 million to boost workforce development


As part of HEFCE's employer engagement strategy, the Universities of Teesside, Staffordshire and Cumbria, and Worcester College of Technology are developing new relationships with employers to support business growth and employee development, supported by more than £8 million of HEFCE funding.

Green light for Newcastle building


Newcastle City Council has given planning permission for architect Bond Bryan’s winning design for Newcastle University’s new £22m student and administration services building. Contractors will be appointed in November and the project will start on-site in spring 2008 and is set for completion in 2010.
